Hey There, 2017

Here's a little update on this crazy, busy life of mine! :)

Almost 3 months ago, I said I was going to prioritize this blog...and I failed. So, here I am again, recommitting to it! ;)

SEVEN
In my last blog post, I referenced that a few of my friends and I are doing an experiment on that consists of life changing habits for a month a time.

In January, we could only eat seven foods; this hands down was the hardest month for me. My seven foods were:
  1. chicken
  2. avocado beef
  3. peanut butter
  4. eggs
  5. sweet potatoes
  6. banana
  7. wheat bread
As you can see, I had to make a modification to my original seven. :) If you know me, you know that I have a sensitive gag reflex and real issues with textures, so needless to say I had to change one of my foods. Since January, I have had a hard time eating bananas, eggs and sweet potatoes. Overall, it was a interesting experience!

Russell was ready for this month to end, too! haha
Near the end of the month, I figured out now to make banana/egg pancakes, and they were delicious.

In February, we made a council decision to allow ourselves more than seven things, so that we could have work out clothes and professional clothes.

I chose:
  1. blue jeans
  2. black jeans
  3. Teachin Ain't Easy Shirt
  4. Red and Black flannel
  5. Third Grade Team Shirt
  6. Texas State Shirt
  7. RCES Tshirt
  8. Nike workout pants
  9. Black TOMS
  10. Nike running shoes
  11. Brown booties
  12. White dressy shirt
  13. Green Shirt
  14. Flannel Scarf
I literally wore the same thing every week. I added 11-14 for special occasions, but other than that I stuck to my 10 items for the entire month of February. I didn't mind this month, so much, because as we all know I am NOT a morning person, and these outfits required no planning past the first week!

Russell and Weller's Birthday
Russell and Weller turned another year older and we celebrated!

I've ordered this exact cake two years in a row, and had no idea it was the same!!
This cake was super easy to make and SO delicious! :) Here's the link:

Momma
February 3 marked one year since my momma left this Earth. I took the day off from work. I ate onion rings at Center Point (her favorite) and had biscuits and gravy for dinner (my favorite thing that cooked for us), all with Russell (both of our favorites.) I reminisced and cried and laughed and missed her.

Juliebear and Russell cheers'ed to my momma with me.
My sweet friend, Shannon Kelly, sent me flowers.
A special thank you to my bff, Meg, and sweet friend, Beth, for sending these cards to me.

While I miss my momma immensely, I am so blessed to be surrounded by such loving an supportive friends and family.

Lindsay and Patrick's Engagement Party
Bethany, Julie, Sarah, Melanie and I hosted a sweet little engagement party for Patrick and Lindsay, and we all had a blast!

Anniversary
Russell and I had a sweet little brunch date for our anniversary. We had plans for the whole weekend, but coming off of the flu, that was a no go! So, we came home and snuggled in our own bed. :) Happy 2 years to my precious husband.

Day of, not only did he bring me Chick-fil-A and flowers at work, but he also spent time reading to my kiddos! :) That night, we went to Huisache for dinner and to Marble Slab for dessert. :)

 Weekend Brunchin' in ATX!
Wonder Read Aloud with Russell! :)
After Huisache, we naturally had to get Marble Slab! :)

AND...because I love them, here are some favorites from our wedding day!
