Eating Our Way Around NBTX

This has been the summer of visitors and Russell and I have loved every minute of it! One of my high school bffs, Shanna came to visit for four days and boy, did we make the most of our #600poundlife!

The plan was for Shanna to stay Tuesday-Friday, but on Monday, she was in a car accident with someone who was texting and driving and totaled her car. I know, I freaked out too! She was okay, but Christian Grey (her 4 month old car) was not! She ended up having to deal with insurance stuff for a couple of days and ended up in New Braunfels on Thursday! We drank a little and ate A LOT and had the best time!

We started our adventures with a late lunch at Cracker Barrel and some outlet mall shopping!
This smores dessert is the special summer dessert at CB right now, and it was delicious!
I ended up with this magnolia leaf wreath for $30 from Kirkland's and this towel sums up mine and Shanna's next few days together!

Russell, Shanna and I decided to Uber to The Downtowner for dinner!

The pimento cheese dip was the most delicious thing I may have ever tasted!

After dinner, we ended up at Pour Haus, which is by far my favorite bar in New Braunfels.

Day 2 started with lunch at McAdoos and dessert at 2 Tarts, more shopping and dinner at Gruene River Grill

Russell was unamused by our shopping adventures! Friday night, Russell headed off to fire academy and Shanna and I head out to Gruene River Grill! :)

Saturday was complete with a river floating adventure, Infernos and quite the adventure at Gruenetini's!

River adventures with my Shanna Banana and Lou!

After a day at the river, we contemplated calling it a night, but decided #weaint30yet and pulled ourselves together!
Juliebear met Shanna and me for dinner at Infernos and drinks at Gruenetini's!

Shanna and I ended our four days with brunch a with her aunt and some Jasper friends, the farmer's market and a little boutique shopping in Gruene Lake Village!

Thank you, sweet Shanna for spending part of your vacation with me! I loved every minute of it! I cannot wait to come to Fort Worth to visit you and Meg!

If anyone needs any food recommendations around here, just let me know! ;)

Oh My, Sweet Summertime

Uncle Russell and Aunt 'Manda had a GREAT weekend with Blake, Cameron, Maddie and Noah! I'm not sure why we didn't move to New Braunfels years ago! We have no doubt found our home! Well, all of our moves have given me some of my most favorite people, so no regrets on our times in other places, but boy are we happy to be here!

This weekend we got to share our town with more of our sweet family! This was Blake and Cameron and the kiddos first family trip out here, since our wedding, and we LOVED having them! We spent some time showing them our favorite places, hanging out at the pool, floating the river, at Schlitterbahn and eating...lots of eating!

After a little pool time, we were off to the river!

Uncle Russell under packed the cooler...it rained for the last 15 minutes and I told Cameron the wrong exit, so they had to scale someone's yard, but other than those things--River Trip #2 was a SUCCESS.

Pre-dinner photoshoot with my Maddie girl!
Gristmill, two weekends in a row!
I had given the hostess my name, but Russell asked her to put his name because it isn't as common, and then spelled it for her three times anddd we ended up with that! 😂

We ended up with a river view table! It was toasty, but beautiful!

Hotel de Bisbey comes complete with 2 air mattresses a sofa, one bathroom, and a galley kitchen in a spacious 675 square feet! ;) BUT, we love it!!

Day 2 consisted of burying Uncle Russell with pillows and blankets, lunch at Centerpoint, drive through tour of Texas State, Schlitterbahn and dinner at Cantina del Rio in Gruene! :) Every person Russell works with was surprised to see him there on his day off because of his positive attitude towards the service industry...but a Mexican restaurant in a treehouse and those margaritas...come on-we were going there!

This is probably the most precious picture of the weekend and that little waterproof pouch is the best investment of my summer!

I was entirely TOO excited about floating on this hippo in the Lazy River! 😝

We ended the weekend with some Sunday morning Maddie snuggles, Snapchat and Buttermilk Cafe! :)
 Crazy hairrr, don't careeee!

Uncle Russell caught these sweet shots of Maddie girl! She was going to town on Buttermilk Cafe's coffee cake with grape jelly and some pancakes ! That's my girl!

We are so grateful that Blake, Cameron, Maddie and Noah were able to come visit! We've had a family filled summer and have loved every minute of it. Now, if Summer '17 could please slow down, that would be great!

Thanks for stopping by!
