A little bit of background...Any time life has thrown crazy things our way, Racheal has always been someone Hopi and I could count on. We spent a lot of time with Racheal during our middle school and high school years, but as we all got older and , it's been harder to see each other as often as we'd like. So, needless to say this weekend was much needed, and nothing short of AMAZING!
A few things changed for the trip plans, and Abby and Makayla weren't able to make it (if you read this, know we missed you both!), but Racheal, Billy (my brother-in-law), Emily (my niece), Will (Emily's precious boyfriend) and Anna (Emily's sweet BFF) were able to make the trip! I literally squealed with excitement when they arrived around 2:00 a.m on Saturday! We ended up staying awake until after 4:00 a.m. because who can sleeeep when you're family is in town for the first time!!! While I waited on them to drive five hours (and Russell was at work), I went into hostess overdrive!! After two trips to Walmart, a trip to Buc-ees (glasses bobbers are a NECESSITY for first time river floaters, duh), a stop a Julie's for a second airbed and stroll over to Lindsay's for an extra blanket (Thanks, yall!!), Casa de Bisbey was all ready for our guests!!
We got up pretty early on Saturday morning and had a delicious breakfast (Thanks, Russ)! We headed to Landa Falls Tube Rentals to get our tubes! We decided to float the Comal because it's calm, convenient and because every first time river floater (especially high schoolers) need to experience the tube chute!
We were so happy that Patrick and Lindsay were able to join us!
After the river, we decided to come home, shower and head to Gruene! Any time visitors are in town, especially if they've never been here before, you have to show them Gruene! So, we had dinner at Gristmill and moseyed around Gruene until closing time! :)
How precious are Emily, Anna and Will?!!
I LOVED every bit of Saturday, but let me tell ya, taking Emily to see Texas State today makes me teary-eyed. I am the only person in my family who is a Bobcat, and the possibility of Emily becoming a Bobcat gives me all the feels!!!
If Emily does move out here, Russell and I will have family out here, which is very surreal, being that for the last 10 years, our closest relatives have been over a 4 hour drive away! If she thought I was crazy/excited aunt this weekend?!!--HOLY COW! JUST imagine what it will be like if she moves out here! 😍😍😍 I am already daydreaming about all of our Texas State storieessss...fingers crossed!!
We ended our fast and furious time together with a late lunch/early dinner at Cantina, since Russell had to work!
That just about sums up our weekend, and I couldn't think of a better way to end the month of June/kick off the month of July!
xoxo
