Fourth of July

I love holidays. Any reason to to dress up and spend time with some of my favorite people is always right up my alley! From the parade to the fireworks, New Braunfels did not disappoint! Julie and I went the the parade downtown...we do think we may have missed some of it because all we saw were classic cars, a few horses, and a few businesses, but it was our first time, so maybe that was all of it! We're from small towns, where parades are a BIG DEAL, so we were expecting floats and bands and all kinds of hoopla! Downtown was decorated super cute AND we love doing anything "local," so we had a blast!

Julie and I mayyy have these festive nails on Sunday! NB Quarry Nails is where it's at!

Maybe, we went to Naegelin's and to 2Tarts, don't judge us.

Randomly found this cute photo overlay on FB Messenger! Just wait until you see what else I happened upon!

Following the parade, Russell and I had brunch with my former student, Gavyn and his precious family! We went to Fork and Spoon, and it was delicious! Thanks y'all! We had the best time!

I could eat Chicken and Pancakes EVERY DAY.

After brunch, we decided to to hang out at our apartment pool! We had a small group of friends over, managed to find a one table and one lounge chair and relaxed. For the regular working folks, a Tuesday to just relax is a very welcomed event! haha

 How precious is Caitlin?!

My attempt at a group photo!
Nothin' says 'Merica like oversized floats and Red, White and Blue everything...
Towels are from HEB and the cookies are from Naegelin's and 2tarts!

After the pool, we ended up at Adobe Verde

Give me all the fried avocado!

Fireworks are my FAVORITE part of of Fourth of July, besides being with my people of course! We read online that we could see the city firework show from Fischer Park over by Julie's house, so we went over and set up shop! It was a little far way from the action, but we were able to enjoy it! Next year, I think I'll fight the crowds at Landa, to get a little closer, but for first time New Braunfels 4th of July celebrators, I'd say today was great!

This is us...watching fireworks!

When you're pushing 30, this is what our American life is like...home before 10 and ready for bed!😝

Remember, how I said I found some fun filters on FB Messenger?! 😳 πŸ˜‚

...and because I couldn't decide which one I liked better, I'll leave you with these two quotes.

"May we think of freedom not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right." Peter Marshall

"The essence of America—that which really unites us—is not ethnicity, or nationality, or religion. It is an idea—and what an idea it is: that you can come from humble circumstances and do great things. That it doesn't matter where you came from, but where you are going." -Condoleezza Rice

Thanks for stopping by!
