Baby Grayson’s Gender Reveal

As every person in my life is well aware, my sister and brother-in-law are going to have a little boy ANY DAY now! Also, every person in my life knows how well I keep up with this blog of mine. However, after reading Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis (Summer reads will definitely be a blog post coming soon), I’ve been inspired in so many areas of my life, especially when it comes to goal setting and not breaking promises to myself, and this blog is a promise I break to myself, year after year. So, here’s to not breaking promises to myself and following through on this blog of mine. ❤️

So, what a better way to get back at it than with a flashback to the gender reveal for Baby Grayson. But, before we flashback there, let me tell you a brief version of the journey his mommy and daddy went on to be where they’re at today. Grab the tissues and watch this compilation video that my sister compiled of different friends and family members finding out the news we had all prayed for for so long.

Pregnancy Announcement
5 years, 3 surgeries, 4 procedures, 45 ultrasounds, 37 injections, 1 failed IUI, 1 failed adoption
0% chance 100% miracle

In the middle of their infertility journey, our momma passed away and they lost just about everything they owned when Hurricane Harvey put 5 feet of water in their house last August. As I sit in this oversized chair, with LucyPup (one of their three dogs) on one side of me and Spence on the other in their living room of that same house which is about 90 percent done, I'm in awe of Sister and Andy's strength and resilience through all of this. I'm also so proud of the boys. Brent and Aiden never complained about camping in the driveway. They (especially Aiden) asked lots of questions, but they never complained. They were displaced for 293 days, most of which were in a travel trailer in their driveway of the home they had JUST moved into 6 months prior. Imagine: 38 weeks pregnant in a travel trailer. Yeah, meee neither.

Now that July has arrived and they are mostly moved back in, it finally feels like there are lights at the end of several tunnels.

Okay, back in February of this year, our sister, Racheal and I threw Hopi and Andy a gender reveal party. It may have starteded 20 minutes late, but turned out perfectly. 😜 A special thank you to everyone who helped us pull it off!

I planned on doing the gender reveal and the baby shower in the same post, but y'all know me (and Hopi)...I (we) take too many pictures for that!

Thanks for stopping by!
