Since Russell and I are on no fast track to get married, who says we have to stop being excited about our engagement? ;)
If you've been following my posts, you've read that we were engaged Christmas 2012 and then did most of nothing in 2013. That is, except have an engagement party in April! I shared some pictures in the first post. However, on this post I just want to share what we decided to give our bridesmaids and groomsmen to ask them to be in our bridal party and share how grateful we are to be surrounded by such amazing family and friends.
We decided that since we love bbq that we wanted to have it at Milt's in Kyle! If you have never been there you are missing out! They had recently moved to a new location, and we thought it would be the perfect little backdrop for our shindig! We planned on having a small party with our parents and friends, so like 30-40 people...Well, obviously we ended up with 85 people to invite with around 60-70 people showing up! IT was a blast!
We planned on asking our bridal party an hour before everyone else arrived. Naturally, with us, nothing happens early, so we ended up doing it in front of everyone. :) I had scoured Pinterest and Etsy for "Will you be my bridesmaid?" gifts and finally decided on monogrammed chevron koozies and a framed poem! For the guys we decided mini bottles of liquor because well, why not? We're all about practicality.
The koozies were made by Lonestar Accessories out of Dallas! Of course, I ordered them later than I should've and Jackie was really nice about getting them to me quickly! I was able to pick all of the colors on each of them! Here's the link to her Etsy store!
All of the frames came from Hobby Lobby and I made the poems on Powerpoint using all the new tricks that my friend Becca taught me! ;)
Oh boys!
Beau taught Brother how to photobomb. :)

My friends are just too beautiful!

We love our Weller.
Shanna was at her cousin's wedding and couldn't make it, so this is the morning after. Don't judge me.

Oh my sweet Caroline.
Here's our table. Yes, I matched the paper to the koozie. ;)
My dear friend Serena.
Blair, Becky and Blake. I cherish this picture so much.
My sweet Rocio
Decorations were simple. I just printed like 100 of the thousands of pictures Russell and I have together and placed them around on the tables.
It was a great night with family and friends and we're so blessed to have such amazing friends by our side along the way! Here are a few more pics!

Fun night! Thanks for including me. I can see my little baby Harper bump there, before I spilled the beans :)
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely one of the most beautiful places out there, the views are astounding and the event was timed perfectly with the sunset.
