Decisions, Decisions

Thanks so much for stopping by! My intent with this blog is to create a place for me to chronicle wedding planning and to share with all of you. :) 

I wanted to give some basic background information on what will be Bisbey-Pearson Wedding 2015. I'll do it in the form of a timeline.

December 25, 2012-Russell proposed

2013-Wedding Planning begins kind of... :) 

So, I began pinning, screenshotting and dragging Russell to Open Houses...not really in a hurry to make decisions. Russell and I decided to host an Engagement Party to celebrate with our friends and immediate family. We wanted to give our Wedding Party little gifts to let them know that we had chosen to have them share in our special day and to simply celebrate our engagement. :)

Now, we have a wedding party (a very attractive wedding party) and no wedding details yet. :)

December 2013

Being that I'm a teacher, my "real life" happens when I have breaks. :) Over Winter Break, I started feeling the pressure of making decisions. We had  officially been engaged at this point for a year.

We drove to Spring Branch and Georgetown and Dripping Springs (4 times) to attend Open Houses and appointments to look at venues. I simply started with googling venues in the Austin area that could hold around 300 people. 

We went to Gabriel Springs, Pecan Springs Ranch, The Lodge at Bridal Veil Falls, Camp Lucy and Memory Lane. 

We finally narrowed it down to Memory Lane and The Lodge at Bridal Veil Falls. My first love was Camp Lucy, but it was too expensive to be quite honest. 

We welcomed 2014 with these decisions made: Wedding Party, a Wedding Website, an appointment for Engagement pics and (drumroll please....)  aVENUE!

February 2014

As this winter in Texas proved to be a crazy one; I found myself a little panicked about a "backup plan." One weekend this month was nice enough to have people sit outside. We had planned on 260 inside and 40 people outside. The venues capacity is 250 and our guest list is at a whopping 385 (now at 349.) That being said, we don't really have one that will comfortably work for our guest list.

March 2014

With Spring Break came a little free time, which I never have. In between binge watching Game of Thrones and registering (next blog post), I decided to begin looking at venues again. Russell and I checked out Camp Lucy (my first love) only to find it is still too expensive. A girl can dream...

Russell has been the BEST and has attended every appointment, Open House and any other wedding related event without complaint. So, I decided that tomorrow, when I go check out The Lodge (again) to ask my sweet friend Courtney to accompany me. :)

Let's see if I can stick with whatever decision I make this time.
